Join LSU Librarians and the International Cultural Center for this

workshop
 to explore using Zotero as a citation management tool for your research. We'll go over what citation management tools are and how they can benefit you during the research process. We'll also go over some of the basics of using Zotero including:

  1. How to download & set up
  2. How to build your Zotero library with a variety of sources 
  3. How to create in-text citations
  4. How to create a references list or bibliography
  5. How to change citation styles in your document using Zotero
  6. How to set up group libraries to collaborate with colleagues and research partners

This is a

hybrid
workshop.
For those registered to attend in person, we will be meeting in the Main Library, Room 241A. For those attending online, a Zoom link will be emailed to you.

Mark your calendars!
 The LSU Libraries Open House will take place on Tuesday, October 24th and Wednesday, October 25th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is a Halloween-themed event and all LSU students are invited to attend. Information stations will be set up on the lawn in front of the LSU Main Library to showcase the services and resources LSU Libraries provides to the LSU community. 

Join us for games, prizes and Trick or Treats at LSU Libraries

. In the spirit of Halloween, costumes are encouraged. 

Participants will have the opportunity to win one of several door prizes donated by local businesses and library vendors. Bring your LSU ID for verification and eligibility to win.

Researcher profiles/author IDs help to disambiguate your work from the work of authors with similar or the same names. When maintained, they can help others find your work and ensure more accurate author metrics. Some publishers and funders require the use of an author ID.

Learn how to take control and maintain your researcher profile. We'll talk about why it's important and some first steps to take, including updating

  • ORCiD
  • Web of Science Research ID
  • Google Scholar
  • Scopus Author ID

Has it been a while since you last used citation management software? Switching from Mendeley or looking for an alternative to Endnote? Need a refresher but want something tailored to faculty & graduate student needs? Get started with reference and citation management using Zotero. Zotero is a free citation management tool accessible from multiple browsers. In this workshop, you will learn how to set up and add items to your Zotero Library and how to set up group libraries for collaboration with colleagues. We'll also talk about how to use it to create in-text citations and bibliographies.

You may want to download Zotero before the workshop. This workshop will be online via zoom.
